Elon Musk: Is he paying Americans to support Donald Trump?

Elon Musk said Saturday that he will give $1 million every day until the presidential election to one lucky American citizen. However, in order to receive the million, someone must have signed a petition by Musk in support of free speech and the right to bear arms, which are also at the heart of Donald Trump's campaign platform.

He actually gave the first check to a man named John Dreher , who attended an America PAC event in Pennsylvania. America PAC is a political action organization founded by Musk to support Trump's presidential campaign. The organization helps mobilize and register voters in critical swing states that could decide the final outcome.

"I think it's kind of fun, and you know, it seems like a good way to use my money," the billionaire said.

Elon Musk, whose fortune is estimated at around $250 billion, has begun a series of speaking engagements in Pennsylvania to persuade voters to support Donald Trump.

The deadline to sign Elon Musk's petition is tonight. The petition, posted on the America PAC website, said that in order to receive the million from Elon Musk, someone must have signed and be a registered voter in Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania or Wisconsin.

However, Rick Hasen, a law professor, said Musk's initiative appears to violate federal election laws. Specifically, paying or offering money or accepting money to register to vote or exercise the right to vote is considered illegal and punishable by a fine or imprisonment of up to five years.

Congress has decided that citizens should not sell their votes. Also, the political process should not be distorted by wealthy individuals who might try to get people to vote a certain way.

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapirosaid Musk's plan to give money to registered voters in his state is "deeply troubling" and that "law enforcement should look into it."

Overall, Musk's initiative to give away a million dollars a day has sparked widespread debate about the influence of billionaires in political campaigns and the potential impact of using wealth on voter turnout. Critics argue that the approach could undermine the democratic process by incentivizing votes with financial rewards, while supporters see it as an innovative way to get more citizens involved in the electoral process.

In his speech on Saturday, Musk also said that if Kamala Harris, it will be “the last election,” implying that the United States will cease to exist. He also hinted at the assassination attempts against Trump, suggesting that Harris is actually a puppet and that is why no one has attempted an assassination on her, while there have already been two attempts on Trump.
