FBI: Using unlicensed crypto services leads to financial losses

Authorities take down crypto mixer service Samourai

The FBI warning follows the recent takedown of Samourai, an illegal crypto transfer platform that also provided a crypto mixer service to launder funds from illicit activities.

Icelandic law enforcement authorities seized Samourai's domains (samourai[.]io and samouraiwallet[.]com) and web servers. The Google Play Store also removed the Samourai Wallet Android.

The US Department of Justice also charged Keonne Rodriguez and William Lonergan Hill, founders and administrators of the platform, with laundering more than $100 million from various criminal enterprises.
