AirPods 4 offer a refreshed, improved design, improved case, and active noise cancellation (ANC).
In 2024, according to Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, Apple will introduce the fourth generation of AirPods, as reported in the weekly newsletter Power On.
This new version will include a series of innovative features that will further pique the interest of consumers, making the headphones even more attractive.
There will be two versions of the AirPods 4 at different prices, as Apple aims to replace the AirPods 3 and AirPods 2 with a more affordable price. For now, the only difference between the AirPods 2 and AirPods 3 is the design, which confuses consumers and costs Apple when customers choose the cheaper model.

The AirPods 4 will bring improvements to the AirPods options available. The earbuds will feature a refreshed design, which Gurman revealed in October. The new AirPods are expected to combine the features of the current AirPods and AirPods Pro, with a more compact body. There is also talk of improved fit, although it is not yet clear whether Apple will add support for silicone eartips.
A redesigned case will include speakers for Find My notifications , as well as a USB-C charging port instead of the Lightning port. The advanced version of AirPods will feature Active Noise Cancellation (ANC), which was previously only available on the AirPods Pro. This will allow customers to enjoy ANC at a more affordable price. In a future software update , Apple will add hearing aid functionality to AirPods. This will allow users to enjoy the benefits of hearing aids without the need for a prescription (OTC) or the use of traditional hearing aids. The FDA approved OTC hearing aid options in 2022, paving the way for Apple to offer AirPods for hearing loss. Additionally, according to Gurman, Apple plans to provide hearing tests that will let AirPods users know if they are experiencing hearing loss. The AirPods 4 are expected to be released in 2024, likely in September, around the time Apple unveils new iPhone models . Apple is also planning a new version of the AirPods Max in 2024, with an update that will include new colors and the addition of a USB-C charging port.

Apple's AirPods Pro, which are the most expensive option, will be upgraded in 2025. Apple has designed a new version with an emphasis on comfort and a more efficient chip.
