YouTube Music now features YouTube comments, as Google probably hasn't learned its lesson!
YouTube Music has a redesigned Now Playing screen that includes the comments section from any YouTube video it retrieves. Now, you can read and write comments directly from the app, if that's something you're interested in. The update is rolling out now to iOS and Android.

Other interface updates include larger album art and a new horizontal row of buttons above the progress bar, which can be restored by swiping. The buttons include save, an easily accessible share button, download, radio, and the aforementioned comments section button — presumably only for songs with available videos. YouTube Music’s like/dislike buttons are also being moved to the same row as the new buttons, so that the track name and album are aligned on the left of the screen (taking the place where the “dislike” button used to be).

Tapping the YouTube Music comments button brings up an interface that's almost entirely separate from the regular YouTube app and includes existing comments from the YouTube upload (compare the YouTube Music screenshot from 9to5Google with the same song on YouTube). While we were able to test out the new Now Playing interface, we weren't able to test out the new comments section ourselves, as the button was still missing. However, you can try and see if you're part of the full app by closing YouTube Music on Android and reopening it (make sure your app is up to date).
