An astronaut, aboard the ISS, took an amazing photo showing an aurora forming around the Earth.
Astronaut Josh Cassada ’s catchphrase “ Absolutely surreal ” perfectly encapsulates the beauty of a photo he managed to capture from inside the International Space Station (ISS), which is located about 400 kilometers above the Earth. The Earth appears to be floating upside down, with an emerald aurora illuminating its outline – a sight that can only be described as breathtaking.

On Tuesday, Cassada posted the photo on Twitter, impressing the world. However, he did not give any more details. The white spots seen on planet are actually city lights! The most impressive part of the photo, however, is the green light surrounding the Earth, the aurora. The objects seen in the foreground, in front of the planet are instruments of the International Space Station.
The green aurora suggests the image may be a recent one showing the aftermath of sun . The green light – caused by the interaction of charged solar particles with molecules in atmosphere – has been supercharged by recent intense solar activity. A stunning northern lights display was visible as far away as southern England on Sunday night.

Astronaut Josh Cassada is part of the SpaceX Crew-5 mission that arrived at the ISS in October of last year. Cassada and the rest of the crew will return to Earth in a few days. That means they'll be able to admire our planet from above for another week or so, if all goes according to plan: The Crew-5 mission is scheduled to return to Earth about five days after SpaceX 's Crew-6 mission arrives . The Crew-6 mission is set to lift off early Thursday morning (March 2) from NASA 's Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

Cassada's impressive image of the aurora caught the attention of the public and other astronauts! NASA astronaut Bob Hines, who is currently on Earth, wrote: "Wow, nice shot!" The praise from Hines certainly gives photo , since the astronaut has also been involved in detecting and taking photos of auroras from the ISS.
This image joins an already impressive collection of beautiful shots of Earth taken from the ISS. These images and others taken by space telescopes allow us to better understand our planet and explore further into space.
