Fitbit is taking a bold step forward, removing some community-oriented features in an effort to improve the user experience. Fitbit has announced its intention to eliminate certain features in order to transition to an improved and more efficient app powered by Google, starting March 27, 2023.

For those who aren't familiar, Fitbits are fitness trackers that track your steps, heart rate, sleep, and more. They're designed to help you stay active and motivated to achieve your fitness goals .
Today, the company sent an email to its valued customers informing them that several features of the Fitbit app will be removed. Starting March 27, 2023, this change will apply to both iOS and Android. From now on, Fitbit users will no longer be able to create or access open groups. In addition, the company is discontinuing Adventures and Challenges, which means users will lose their Trophies.

The purpose of these changes may not be clear, but the company has expressed its desire to move forward and offer more features that will benefit users with faster loading times, as well as a better experience overall.

Fitbit strongly encourages users to download data before March 27th, when the features will be removed. Don’t lose your information – make sure to back it up before then! To start this process, simply head to your Fitbit dashboard at fitbit.com/settings/data/export and you’re good to go! To top it off, Fitbit is adding a friendly reminder that Premium users can cancel their subscriptions at any time. If you’re not happy with these changes, you have the power to make your own decisions.
