According to a recent survey, more than half of IT leaders in the US – specifically 58% – are looking for new jobs because they feel insignificant when important decisions are made in the company.

A survey conducted by ManageEngine, which is owned by Zoho, found that, of IT leaders surveyed on the topic, 41% report feeling sidelined in the organization's decisions regarding hybrid working.

The report found that non-IT departments are responsible for decisions such as purchasing applications and software for the company (54%), facilitating IT controls (52%), purchasing devices (45%), and hiring tech talent (48%).
With the recent shift to remote and hybrid work models, many IT decision-makers feel unappreciated by their company’s senior leadership: 81% of IT respondents said they would like to have more support from their employer. Similarly, more than half (56%) of IT leaders said they are less committed to employer than they were two years ago.
Although IT teams have played a pivotal role in business innovation in recent years, senior management still doesn't value their input into broader decisions, according to Vijay Sundaram, chief strategy officer at Zoho Corporation.

Although most people believe that IT is more responsible for business innovation than in the past, it could drive even more innovation if it had a stronger leadership position.
