Apple is removing mask requirements for corporate employees in “most locations,” according to an internal email from the company’s COVID-19 response team, obtained by The Verge.

“Please feel free to continue wearing a face mask if you feel more comfortable doing so,” the email says. “Also, please respect each person’s decision to wear a mask or not.”.
This comes as COVID-19 infections in the United States are increasing with the BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants of the omicron variant accounting for more than 90 percent of infections, according to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

These subvariants have significant mutations from older omicron variants, and protection from vaccines wanes over time.
