PlayStation 5 users will gain more flexibility in how they can share their game downloads, Sony said in an announcement yesterday. The company said it is “gradually rolling out the ability to share PS5 game downloads via the PS app to more regions! The Americas are the first to get the feature – with more regions coming next month.”

The PS app allows PlayStation 5 users to scroll through clips, watch them, download them to their mobile devices, and post them to social media. No PlayStation Plus subscription is required to use it. Sony clarified in an FAQ after the announcement that “your downloads are stored for 14 days on SIE’s cloud servers, so they are available to you through the PlayStation app.”

Game captures allow players to take a snapshot or video of their gameplay. This is perfect for sharing gaming moments with your friends.
Currently, sharing these game captures via the PS app is only available in Canada and Japan. Now that the feature is rolling out to more regions, it will be easier for players to navigate and share their clips. It's a feature that's definitely nice to have, especially if you just want to share a cool moment from a game.

Sony will release more details about which regions will gain access to this feature and when, but for now the feature will be rolling out in the Americas.
