Instagram for something on the app, the platform saves that search term in your account history. However, you can delete this search history on Instagram. See below how you can do it.

Clear search history on Instagram (mobile)
- If you're using an iPhone or Android, open the app .
- In the bottom right corner of the app, tap profile icon .
- Once the profile page opens, go to the top right corner and tap the menu (three horizontal lines).
- In this menu, tap “Settings”.
- The Settings page will open. There, click on “Security”.
- If you are using an Android phone, tap the “Search History” option. If you have an iPhone, tap “Clear Search History.”
- Instagram will open the search history page. To clear the history, tap “Clear All” at the top of the page.
- At the “Clear Search History” message, tap “Clear All” again.
Be careful! You need to be sure you want to delete your Instagram search history, because if you do, you won't be able to get it back.

So, if you're sure, follow the steps above and you're good to go! Your Instagram search history will now be empty.
Clearing history on Instagram (desktop)
If you're using a desktop, such as Windows, Mac, Linux, or Chromebook, you'll need to go to the Instagram website to delete your search history.
- First, open a browser on your computer and then the Instagram website . Log in to your account.
- In the top right corner of Instagram, click profile .
- Then, click on “Settings”.
- Once Settings opens, in the left sidebar, click on “Privacy and Security“.
- In the window on the right, in the “Account Data” section, click “View Account Data”.
- Then, in the “Account Activity” section, located under “Search History”, click “View All”.
- Your entire search history will appear. At the top of the page, click on “Clear Search History.”

- A “ Clear Search History ” message will appear . Click “ Clear All ” to proceed with deleting the history.
With the above simple process you will delete your Instagram search history on desktop.
