A new report says that the next‑generation AirPods, with a design similar to the current AirPods Pro, will start production next month. And they are likely to be announced together with this year's iPhone lineup.

In addition to the new iPhone lineup, Apple is also preparing updated versions of other products to be released in the second half of 2021, hoping to capitalize on the expected economic recovery from the coronavirus pandemic. These include the MacBook Pro and a new version of the company's popular AirPods, which will begin production next month.
The mass production of the new iPhones this year is set to start in August, according to Apple’s usual production schedule. Apple could produce up to 95 million units from August to the end of January, although sources emphasized that such forecasts are subject to revision. Throughout 2021, Apple aims to create up to 230 million iPhones, including both existing and new models, an increase of 11% from last year.

It was already clear that this year would be the last year for the iPhone mini. The iPhone 12 mini has reportedly shown disappointing sales, resulting in Apple reducing its production and there are many reports that it will be withdrawn from release from 2022.
Apple still plans to update the iPhone SE to replace the existing one, adding a faster processor and 5G capabilities.

All iPhones that will be released next year will have 5G capability, including its budget device which will be relaunched in 2 years, as the company tries to increase sales of a product that still accounts for more than half of its revenue.
