A French-based startup called Nablahas created a new app focused on women's health. The app allows users to chat with healthcare professionals, offers community content, helps aggregate all their medical data, and will soon offer telemedicine appointments.
The main feature of Nabla right now is the ability to start a conversation with healthcare professionals. The patient can send a message to a general practitioner, a gynecologist, a midwife, a nurse, a nutritionist or a physiotherapist.

And while messages certainly cannot completely replace in-person appointments, they can certainly prove useful, since the doctor can receive more information or help the patient remotely.
Other French startups also offer text chat with healthcare professionals. For example, health insurance company Alan allows messages to be sent to a general practitioner, but the patient must be insured with Alan. Biloba also allows chats with doctors, but the company focuses on pediatrics.
Nabla takes a different approach and offers this feature for free. There is a limit, however, as you can only send a few questions per month. If it is a common question, you can find the answer from the community. Nabla doctors also moderate the content in the community.

Using a free health-related product might seem suspicious, but the company is well-funded and also plans to launch premium features that will be offered for a fee.
Nabla is already working with a team of doctors who are ready to answer questions from the company's early adopters or patients. The company's investors include Xavier Niel, Artemis, Rachel Delacour, Julie Pellet, Marc Simoncini and Firstminute Capital.
In addition to messaging conversations, Nabla displays all of your past interactions in a personal log. You can connect this log to other apps and services, such as Apple, Clue, and Withings. This way, you can see all of your data from the same app.

Nothing is shared with Nabla for machine learning purposes. However, users can choose to share data to improve processes, personalization, and more.
Nabla plans to launch a telemedicine service so patients can interact with doctors in real time, as well as a premium version with more features.
