Tesla announced to its fans and attending journalists, at its latest event these days, the latest product it will release, which will be called Cybertruck.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk reminded everyone of the company's plan to make the world "greener." To demonstrate the vehicle's durability, Musk hit it with a hammer in several places.
Musk also said the vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 60 in just 2.9 seconds. But more importantly, it can tow 14,000 pounds. He also announced three different battery packs, with 250+, 300+, or 500+ miles per charge, depending on the configuration. It may not appeal to a lot of people based on looks, but Tesla fans and those looking to reduce their “carbon footprint” will be especially pleased to be able to drive something that is “super” for the planet .
The starting price for this electric vehicle will be $39,900 and Tesla is accepting pre-orders now for just $100 down.
Production is scheduled to begin in late 2021, with the selection of three engines to be completed by 2022 .
