Have you ever heard of WOLT? If not, and you are a lover of good food, you will definitely be interested. Wolt is a start-up company, since 2014, which came to our country last December to change the delivery landscape.
It is present in more than 13 countries in Europe and Asia, collaborates with 3,500 restaurants, 10,000 distributors and has over 1.5 million users who order either through its website or its applications on AppStore and Google Play. The company is growing rapidly and this is also evident from the success it already has in Greece and more specifically in Athens.
Currently, wolt serves the northern suburbs, the city center, and has now begun operating in the southern suburbs. Its goal is to serve all areas up to Glyfada by Christmas.
Now you can order your favorite burger or dessert that you had over the weekend in downtown Athens to be delivered to your home or office. And if you think they don't deliver, they now do!
Wolt therefore collaborates with delivery drivers who have their own means of transportation, and not only motorbikes but also bicycles as it is an eco-friendly company, and "makes them available" to stores that have never delivered before. Its logic is to offer the customer high quality food that they cannot find in the common stores that already deliver. For this reason, it does not collaborate with mass fast food chains or the "cheap" neighborhood souvlaki restaurant.
Some of the most famous stores you can find on Wolt are Starbucks, Burger Ap and Akis Petretzikis' Kitchen Lab, Penny Lane, PAUL and many more.
But beyond the differences between stores with a common delivery app, Wolt has also differentiated itself in the way delivery works. What do I mean? When you complete and send your order, it is accepted by the store and automatically charged as you can only pay by card for convenience and security reasons. If the store you have chosen to order from is within a 2 km radius, then there is no additional delivery fee. From 2 km to 4 km, which is the maximum delivery distance, there is an extra cost (starting at 1 euro and increasing by 0.10 euro per 500 meters). At the same time, the nearest free distributor is notified that an order is in the process of being prepared at your preferred store and must be delivered.
Throughout the process, you can be informed live about where your distributor is and how long it will take for them to arrive at your location.
And of course, the delivery service and packaging are the icing on the cake, as everyone is particularly kind and delivers your package to you in a Wolt ecological paper bag.
