What is the difference between pages that use www and those that do not? On iGuRu.gr you will not see the www prefix in the website URL? Why? What is better for SEO? Should you change your page URL?

Before we begin: for an average user and a small business owner, there is absolutely no difference in addresses between www and non-www. The difference is purely technical and essentially does not matter that much.
Yes, there is a technical difference between the two that we will cover later in the article, but for most people it should not matter that much, as there are no SEO advantages to choosing one address or the other. Even Google states that it all depends on your preference.
What is important and we should mention is that the URL you chose at the beginning of your page should not be changed. In other words, DO NOT change the URL of your website to add or remove the World Wide Web prefix.
You can inform Google of your personal preference from your Google Webmaster Tools account. 
With a click on the gear you can tell Google what your preferred URL is.

At iGuRu.gr we do not use www out of personal preference. Usually on the websites we create we do not use www, since it is essentially not needed. Below we mention the technical difference between using WWW and not using it
. When you add www. in front of a page, it acts as a hostname which can offer more flexibility in DNS, the ability to limit cookies to the use of multiple subdomains and much more. Domains that do not use the prefix are also referred to as naked domains and do not have these technical advantages.
