Apple Music now has over 56 million subscribers

While Apple Music launched later than other streaming services out there, it seems to be catching up pretty quickly. Earlier this year it was reported that Apple Music had around 50 million subscribers, but now according to the latest figures from the Financial Times, it appears that number has reached around 56 million in half a year.

It's unclear how accurate these numbers are, but we're certainly not surprised by the subscriber growth. It also seems like this subscriber growth is apparently due to Apple's aggressive approach to the service, where it seems to be stepping out of its comfort zone with a lot of promotional ideas.

This seems to be the statement of a senior executive: “Apple came into this market with an inferior product three years ago. Apple Music hasn’t become the spectacular product that was expected like iTunes. But there is a clear improvement with new ideas all the time, which they wouldn’t have done two years ago.”

There was also a report in the past that said that in terms of the US, Apple Music may have already surpassed Spotify in the American market, although Spotify is the leader in the overall market.
