As technology advances and our needs change, the further we seem to be moving away from nature.
That seems to be the reason why an artist from France wanted to plant plants inside Mac products! French artist Christophe Guinet works to combine elements of nature with aspects of modern culture and technology, and in his latest project, “Plant your Mac,” he decided to transform classic Apple into nurseries and flower pots!
It combines the best of both worlds.
The project features classic Macintosh products and old-school computers – the iMac G3, the Powerbook and the Macintosh Classic – that are transformed into exquisite nurseries.
Guinet revealed in a statement that he had conceived this unique design in his mind for quite some time, seeing how dependent people have become on technology over the years.
“I realized that we tend to forget reality when we’re in front of our machines,” he said. “Plant your Mac” is a way for me to convey a message by reminding people that nature still exists.” Through these photographs, Guinet hopes to remind others that while modern technology is impressive, it’s important to disconnect and turn to the natural world around us every now and then.
The photographer explained that he believes our generation has begun to come to terms with the fact that industrialization has the potential to destroy our planet, so he wants to remind everyone of the beauty of the natural world.
