Cortana, Microsoft's digital assistant, comes more upgraded than ever in the new Creators Update of Windows 10. Microsoft is introducing new IoT devices that offer even more capabilities.
Windows 10 IoT is a version of the operating system aimed at mobile devices and can work with Raspberry Pi. The IoT core is mostly installed on smart devices and if they have a screen they can also get Cortana.
Microsoft, in a recent announcement at WinHEC, stated that the initial goal is to launch Cortana in America and England, but this does not mean that other countries will not be able to obtain it, we will just have to be a little patient.
While several devices with Windows 10 and Cortana software have already been introduced at technology events, Microsoft aims to increase the number, offering the Windows experience to even more.
Last week, Microsoft introduced Windows 10 build 14986, which features even more improvements to the digital assistant, such as options to turn off the computer, change the sound, and voice commands for playing music.
The giant is also looking to improve Cortana in China, where its demand is high. “Cortana can recognize music for Chinese consumers simply by tapping the music icon in the top corner of its home page. The digital assistant will automatically inform you about the song, a feature that already works in the UK and America,” a spokesperson said.
At this point, we would like to inform you that the IoT version of Cortana will not be available from the start in the Creators Update.
