Microsoft has released the list of sessions for the upcoming Build 2016, and it's pretty obvious that cloud and IoT will be the big topics this year.
For those who haven't been following the news, Microsoft's annual Build developer conference will take place from March 30 to April 1 in San Francisco. Microsoft will be streaming all of the keynotes from the official Build 2016 website. All other sessions will be recorded and available for playback starting the following week.
Let's go to this year's list of topics:
As expected, gaming development will be at the forefront. Microsoft will provide developers with more guidance on how they can develop better general-purpose Windows Platform apps for Xbox.
There are several sessions on developing for the Universal Windows Platform, with a particular focus on notifications, Action Center , and interactive Live Tiles. There is also a session – along with privately scheduled Holographic Academy seminars for those who purchased the HoloLens development kit – on developing Universal Windows Platform apps for HoloLens and Windows Store apps, which Microsoft calls 2D apps.
Information will also be provided about Azure's evolving microservices development platform, which the company refers to as Azure Service Fabric.
Last year, Microsoft said we should expect Azure Service Fabricto open up to Java and Linux development as part of its Open Source Developer Services, which will bring the best of the best open source technologies to Azure. Who knows, we might hear more next week.
