Last month we reported that Canonical, and Spanish company BQ, announced the creation of the first Ubuntu tablet. The first Ubuntu tablet, called the BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition, has just opened for pre-orders.
The tablet is available through BQ's online store in two variants, the Aquaris M10 HD and the Aquaris M10 Full HD. Along with Ubuntu, the tablet will also run Android 5.1 Lollipop, but thanks to a partnership between Canonical and BQ.
During last month's MWC 2016, which took place in Barcelona, Canonical had the BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition tablet on its massive stand, along with the gorgeous Meizu PRO 5 Ubuntu Edition smartphone, along with the Sony Xperia Z1 and OnePlus One Ubuntu Phones.
The most interesting feature of the BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition tablet is its price. The device costs $289.90 for the Full HD version, and $249.90 for the HD model.
It should be noted that BQ will ship the Ubuntu tablet to selected European Union countries, as well as some that are not part of the EU.
The BQ Aquaris M10 Ubuntu Edition tablet has a 10.1-inch touchscreen, a MediaTek Quad-core MT8163A processor clocked at 1.5GHz, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, MicroSD slot up to 64GB, and an 8 MP camera with dual flash, autofocus, and Full HD (1080p) resolution for video recording.
