We've reported in a previous post that BlackBerry is planning to release a slider smartphone powered by the Android operating system. Codenamed BlackBerry Venice, the device is expected to be released by AT&T in the US, with other carriers to follow later.
Today, the well-known leaker Twitter account, @evleaks, posted an image of the upcoming BlackBerry Venice. The device looks very stylish in the image, and we hope that when the device is released it will be as it looks.
The leaked image shows the underside of the BlackBerry Venice, which features a microUSB slot and 3.5mm audio jack ports.
The QWERTY keyboard that the BlackBerry Venice is expected to feature is not visible in the image because the slider is closed.
The photo also shows some of the apps that will come pre-installed on the BlackBerry Venice. In addition to the usual Google apps and services like Maps, Drive, Chrome, Hangouts, and Photos, we can also see two Microsoft apps: Skype and Bing.
The BlackBerry Venice features a 5.4-inch Quad HD (2560×1440 pixels) touchscreen display, as well as an 18-megapixel camera on the back. On the front, the smartphone will feature a 5-megapixel camera for selfies.
The Venice is expected to be unveiled sometime this fall and will likely hit the market in November, but the information has not yet been confirmed by BlackBerry.
