Robolinux 7.7.1 the illegal distribution

Robolinux -to-use Debian-based Linux distribution that uses both GNOME and Xfce desktop environments, has just been updated to version 7.7.1.RoboLinux

The operating system claims to help users “move” from Windows to Linux without having to give up their favorite applications. A tool included with the operating system called Stealth VM Software allows users to run Windows applications in a virtual environment. Of course, it is still unclear whether this particular project is legal. It is very strange that Microsoft has not yet taken legal action against the developers of this distribution.

As usual, each new version of the Robolinux operating system brings something new, such as full hard drive encryption, frequent changes for Windows compatibility, or something else. The latest version of the operating system makes available the Popcorn Time service that allows users to watch movies and TV shows online.

Running a virtual environment with Windows is already quite controversial from a legal perspective, especially for a Linux distribution. Now that the project developers have added the Popcorn Time service by default, which is illegal in many countries, the operating system can be characterized as the first illegal Linux distribution to be released.
If you are interested, you can find more information about Stealth VM Software and Robolinux in the distribution's changelog. You can also download Robolinux 7.7.1 in 32-bit and 64-bit from here.
