Tripinview Fly over the coastlines of our country

Starting Tuesday, anyone who wants to choose where to spend their summer vacation in our country can, through their computer ( tripinview ), "fly" over any coastal location or island, in order to get a "taste" of the nearby beaches, coves and shorelines.

All he needs to do is visit Tripinview.com , owned by the Greek company GeotagAeroview, a new online tourism platform that, through aerial photos and videos, allows the user to "explore" every point of the Greek coastline, meter by meter.

“Starting in Greece, Tripinview aims to change the way people choose a summer destination,” said Achilleas Hatzinikos, CEO and co-founder of the company, at yesterday’s presentation. As he mentioned, the aerial shots were taken via helicopter, with Tripinview’s database currently including 200,000 photos and 120 hours of video.

GeotagAeroview's goal is, in addition to audiovisual material, to enable the user to identify local tourist facilities in the photos of an area. "That is why we invite their owners to register completely free of charge on the platform and 'pin' the location of their business in the photos," he added.

Along with the development of the technologies on which tripinview is based, it took 3 years and 1 million euros to map the Greek coastlines, entirely from private funding. The company expects revenue mainly from advertising and the availability of photos and videos on other online services or sites.

By September, the platform will support 5 more languages, in addition to English and Greek, while its first unofficial “crash test” was successfully carried out at the GNTO booth at the Moscow international tourism exhibition MITT. “Tour operators were excited by the idea of a tool that could help them directly convince the customer,” the organization’s director, Angeliki Varela, noted during the presentation, adding that the GNTO is examining various scenarios for cooperation with tripinview, through which Greece gains another means of tourism promotion around the world.

GeotagAeroview plans to add the entire Mediterranean coastline by next fall, which it estimates will boost unique visits to the site to 5 million per month. In a second phase, the mainland and island Caribbean will be added to the platform, followed by mainland Greece later.
