Oracle The Hellas, in collaboration with the Java Hellenic User Group (jhug.gr) and under the auspices of the National Research & Technology Network (GRNET), is organizing the first official Java Day in Greece since 2009.
event will take place on Wednesday, May 7, from 9:00 to 18:00, at Cotsen Hall (54 Sweedias Street, Kolonaki), while it will also be broadcast via Livestreaming from diavlos.grnet.gr for those outside Athens.
Java gurus, users, developers, academics, educators, students, researchers and all members of the Java community are invited to a technology conference that will include the presentation of Java 8 in Greece, specialized technical modules, case studies of important projects and applications based on Java technology, as well as broader discussions about the future of the platform.
As part of the event, the Call 4 Papers has already been launched for members of the market and academia who are interested in presenting innovative applications and projects "that can change the way we communicate, collaborate and do business". The submission of content proposals will be completed on April 11. The proposals will be evaluated by the JD committee, consisting of 2 Oracle executives, 2 members of the Java Hellenic User Group and 2 academics. Final responses to those who have sent their proposals will be given by April 23.
