The world's adrenaline athletes... in Zakynthos...!!!
Zakynthos is ready to welcome adrenaline junkies for the third year. This is the most extreme event of the summer, the “Summer Beach Boogie Zakynthos 2013”. This spectacular event will take place on the Navagio beach of Zakynthos and will focus on the B.A.S.E Jump. This is an impressive sport that involves jumping from low-altitude points or cliffs using a special parachute.
Thirty athletes, professional basejumpers, top names in the sport, from America, Canada, Australia, Chile, Russia, Germany, Switzerland, England, Poland, France, Spain, New Zealand and of course from Greece, will meet at the Shipwreck, to jump with their parachutes from the 200m high vertical cliff. and land on the beach, where the famous Shipwreck is located, offering a breathtaking spectacle. At the same time, professional specialized rescuers will be hanging from ropes on the rocks, for the safe conduct of the event.
The events begin on August 19 and will end on August 23. It is four days full of exciting cliff jumps and magnificent parachute formations in the air, which adrenaline athletes will offer to attendees.
The visionary of the event, which has been a great success in previous years, is iguru's friend, Stratos Giamoukoglou, the Greek base jumper, who first jumped off the cliff five years ago. We wholeheartedly wish him every success in his effort to highlight both the sport and our country.
The event has been organized by the Municipality of Zakynthos together with the Municipal Unit of Elation and with the official support of "Go Fast, Energy Drink", an energy drink that organizes official B.ASE Jump competitions in a few places around the world.
For the third year, Navagio hosts the most extreme athletes and thus Zakynthos writes its history in the field of adrenaline, as it is considered the most ideal destination for BASE Jump worldwide.
