After nearly two years of development on the new software, Mozilla today officially launched Firefox OS. At the same time, the company has opened up payments for developers interested in charging for their apps or charging for content within their apps.
Last week, the first Firefox OS retail packages arrived for sale in Spanish stores from Telefónica. Mozilla says that the next devices will soon be coming to Poland, Colombia, and Venezuela, with more countries joining the list.
The Firefox Marketplace, meanwhile, allows developers to upload and share their apps and, as mentioned above, now accepts payments. Details are available in the Developer Hub.
