The results of a new online survey conducted by Microsoft show that while many people are concerned about protecting their privacy, far fewer actually make an effort to keep their online activities private.
In a post on 's website Microsoft, the company said the survey sampled 4,000 people from the UK, France, the US and Germany. 87% said they were concerned about their online privacy. However, the same survey shows that only 47% of them actually try to protect their privacy online.
The same research shows that people in different countries have different attitudes towards sharing information . For example , in France , 67 % share their birthday , compared to 56 % in the US, 48% in the UK and 47% in Germany . All of this is described in more detail in the infographic created by Microsoft .
