Leading geneticist George Church has admitted that he could soon be able to introduce the world to our closest relative, the Neanderthal.
Professor George Church is looking for a woman to act as a mother to reproduce a cloned human and, as he says, cloning a Neanderthal would not be that difficult.
All it takes is to extract some DNA samples from fossilized bones, which scientists have at their disposal, and then use them to “assemble” the complete DNA of this extinct human species.
According to Newsmax Media, George Church reports:
"I have already managed to collect DNA from fossilized bones and reconstruct the DNA of the extinct human species. Now I need a bold woman.".
Needless to say, the idea of cloning a Neanderthal and asking a modern woman to be his mother is likely to cause a lot of uproar, mainly because most countries still frown on such experiments and their legislation does not allow them.
