Disney announced its new game last night! It's Disney Infinity, a title that will feature characters from various Disney and Pixar films and will be compatible with real dolls and figures – just like Activision's Skylanders. The game is being developed by Avalanche Software, the studio that brought us Toy Story 3: The Video Game – which is why the beloved Toy Box mode makes a triumphant return, allowing the player to create their own, doomsday world!
How will the game be played? Basically, there will be a base on which you can place figures – initially around 40 of them will be produced. Using the so-called “power disks”, you will be able to add special moves and attacks to them!
We're talking about the fully interactive game, the title that will "bridge" the gap between the carpet - where your little one has his toys - and the television! Take a look at the trailer below and you'll understand.
Disney Infinity is expected to be released in June for PC, consoles and mobile phones. And here we have the big complaint and something that Steve Jobs would not like at all. While the game will be available for iOS from day one, there is no information on when and if it will be available for OS X. Disney has left Macs out since it gave importance to Windows PCs. They probably forgot about Steve Jobs' contribution to Pixar during his years as CEO and how much money he brought with his ideas to their coffers.
