A gigantic billboard that was intended for displaying advertising videos on Jalan Prapanca, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, surprised the people who were stuck in traffic on the Friday afternoon, September 30, when it began streaming a continuous porn video starring an Asian woman.
In the video, the woman is initially with a man and later the two of them engage in sexual acts, with the woman making erotic expressions on her face. The pornographic video immediately went viral, with residents and motorists passing by taking photos and videos of the screen and uploading it to Twitter. Social media immediately picked up on the incident and #videotron began trending across Indonesia. A Twitter user took a video of the sign and wrote below: Jakarta governor Basuki “Ahok” Tjahaya Purnama, and metro police.
The police took immediate action and got in touch with the organization responsible for the electronic billboard. The residents of the area meanwhile cooperated and cut the power cables of the billboard, thus stopping the video playback. The company's representative said that the billboard was hacked by unknown hackers. “We detected the breach and discovered that our content was taken by someone who sent us a virus. It was sabotage and hacking»,” said local media Adrian Wiedarta, director of Adiman Jati Transit Advertising.
Police are investigating the case and have questioned at least 10 people, but have yet to arrest anyone. Police are also conducting digital forensics on six computers used by the advertising to display the videotron content.
