Which company has the toughest job interview: Facebook, Google, Apple, or Dropbox?
Out of 100 software engineers, only 1 percent start their own company, while 99 percent are going to join a tech company. Once they have decided to take a job at a tech company like Facebook, Google, Apple, or Dropbox, the only obstacle between them and a lucrative career is the interview.
But which interview is the most difficult of all?
Shankar Joshi, a Cloud Engineer at PYPL, is trying to answer this question. He was a seasoned activist so he knows what he's talking about.
“I’ll try to answer you in a different way. The difficulty depends on the experience and expertise of the candidate. So, let’s focus on the overall experience of the interview sessions. I’ve had two interviews with Dropbox. I wouldn’t say they were difficult. But definitely better than any other interview I’ve had to date. I was clearly able to answer the questions, but you need to have more than just good practice to come up with ideas for such questions. DBX engineers are really clear on what they’re looking for. You’ll be able to decide whether the interview went well or not, even before they answer you.
Facebook was surprisingly interesting, as the answers to most of the questions were pretty obvious. I personally didn't expect that, but it totally depends on the group. The experience for some of the friends, however, was completely different.
Google. Let’s see. Where do I start? Don’t be surprised if you think you did well and end up not getting any response from them. You can read tons of such bad experiences. You might end up doing a weird interview where you don’t understand what you’re saying. I myself know three people who had such experiences despite being fantastic developers. To sum up, comparing the experiences we have – Dropbox > Facebook > Google.”
Another Quora user, Jessica Shu who is an intern at Google Chrome says that:
"I've interviewed with all three and I would agree with most people about the difficulty of coding: Dropbox >>> Google> Facebook. However, I was offered a position at Dropbox even though I missed a question.".
Lucy Geo, another assistant, confirms what the two above have said.
Dropbox by far. They have one of the best engineering teams in the Valley. I've heard on average that Facebook has tougher interviews than Google, but for me personally, Google gave me much more interesting questions.
Dropbox >>>>> Google == Facebook> Apple
So as can be seen from the above, Dropbox has the most difficult job interviews.
