"End" piracy on computers and tablets!

We are all guilty by default. Let's pay something else for the entertainment industry that in 2015 set a worldwide revenue record [2]. Today we pay a piracy fee on storage media and on A4 paper. It doesn't matter why we use them. A percentage goes to some who allegedly we steal from!

The government therefore does not exclude a 4% fee on tablets and 2% on computers «as compensation for the intellectual property rights lost due to electronic piracy»!

This gives wonderful ideas for increasing the state's revenue:

Put an end to cars and scooters because they are used by bank robbers.

Put an end to mobile phones because they are used to listen to music.

Put an end to knives because they are used by murderers.

Put an end to underwear because strong washing detergents pollute the environment.

Even though it is not a Greek phenomenon, the so‑called «piracy» and Greeks are not the only ones responsible for the «lost» revenues (anymore???) of the global entertainment/culture industry, nevertheless only in Greece a pre‑emptive «penalty» for using PC – Tablet is imposed instead of promoting digital literacy.

Perhaps it would be better to put an end to the absurdity of a priori infringement of «intellectual property»; Otherwise, what exactly is the point of this end besides the full legitimation of downloading whatever we want, since we have already paid for it!!!

It is more likely that the tax that will be imposed will not even go to the creators as compensation for the «lost» revenues from «piracy». They probably think that it will go into the state budget to close fiscal gaps as additional revenue. They believe there is still a tax‑paying potential in the ordinary citizen who will buy a tablet or a computer for his child or for himself.

Is it possible that one of the few hopes for the country's economic recovery, which is the use of new technology to increase productivity, is being smothered by the absurd demands of an industry that has become a nightmare for us?
