A Chinese restaurant owner found a different way to save on salary costs, deciding to replace waiters with... robots!
The restaurant , located in a shopping mall in the city of Ningbo, in the northeastern province of Zhejiang, has become a tourist attraction because of its futuristic employees.
Each robot cost 7,600 euros, but Lou Dyke insists that even so, in the long run, he will still be a winner.
The robots, in addition to carrying out orders, can also "speak" to customers as they are equipped with 40 phrases in Chinese. As for their safe movement in the space, this is ensured by a fiber optic system that protects them from stumbling into furniture or people.
The electronic waiters have a lifespan of 5 years and their rechargeable battery allows them to run continuously for eight hours.
