If you manage a cloud or datacenter, you’re probably using CentOS, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), SUSE Linux Enterprise Server (SLES), or Ubuntu. These are all server-based versions of Linux , but none of them were designed to run on hundreds or thousands of servers at once. Now there’s one: CoreOS.
Development took over two years, with CoreOS designed from the ground up to power datacenters and the cloud. Interestingly, CoreOS isn't based on a traditional Linuxlike Debian or Red Hat. Instead, it's based on Google's Chrome OS desktop.
