British police have arrested and charged a 15-year-old teenager from Plympton, Plymouth, with DDoS attacks and bomb threats. The boy was arrested at his parents' home on Monday, November 16.
According to police reports, the teenage hacker carried out several DDoS from his home against companies and servers in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.
In addition, the hacker made several bomb threats against North American airlines. He used social media to "send out his warnings.".
Because he is a minor, Devon and Cornwall Police have not released his name, but the young man was released on bail by his parents and will face justice at Plymouth Juvenile Court on Friday, December 18.
Formal charges have been filed against the young man under Article 51 of the Criminal Offences Act (two offences for the bomb threats) and Article 3 of the Computer Abuse Act (three offences for the DDoS).
Previously, UK police had arrested several teenagers in connection with the much-discussed TalkTalk. It may be an unrelated case, but it still raises questions about the UK's youth's penchant for cybercrime.
