Microsoft promises to fix phones that were 'broken' with Windows 10 Mobile Build 10536 – Build 10536 was pushed to phones that didn't support it
Microsoft released Windows 10 Mobile build 10536 earlier this week, but its release did not have the expected results and did not work properly, as a number of non-Lumia models enrolled in the Windows Insider program also received it without the devices supporting it.
The result was expected: many phones were 'broken' and now need to be reflashed, although we hear from some users that even flashing didn't solve the problem.
So Gabe Aul, the head of the Windows Insider program, revealed today that the company is working on a fix that could help restore phones that received the preview build even if they shouldn't have.
The risks of running pre-release software
This is living proof that using a pre-release software program is not really a good idea unless you are ready to deal with bugs and issues like this, but on the other hand, Microsoft reacts very quickly to such issues and we hope that a solution.
The company has not yet announced a release date for this patch, but we expect it to be released sometime next week, unless more serious issues.
