Brazil: At Bliive you will be paid not with money, but with time!
Maritza Reboucas works late in her apartment in São Paulo. She teaches breathing techniques via Skype to someone she met online just minutes ago. A saleswoman by day, Maritza becomes a breathing coach by night, helping people combat stress.
Maritza, as a yoga professional, could charge over 30 euros for a single session, but she is not paid in Brazilian reals, dollars, euros or pounds, but rather in a new virtual currency called Time Money.
The Brazilian is one of the 100,000 users of Bl iive, the Brazilian website that is characterized as the largest online time-sharing platform.
Bliive looks like a social media platform, where users offer services, lessons, repairs and even tarot card readings, without being paid with money, but with Time Money, with which they can buy another service they need.
Bli ive was founded 1 1/2 years ago by 24-year-old Lorrana Scarpioni, 24, a student in International Relations.
The São Paulo-based site now employs about 12 people and offers over 90,000 services, making it much larger than others of its kind such as Swapaskill.com, BabySitter Exchange and ChoreSwap.
With an average of 40 euros per transaction, if Bliive operated with money, it would offer services worth over 2.5 million euros.
It is noted that Bli ive has no ads and the provision of services is free for users.
Lorrana is trying to bring some revenue to the site by offering companies the opportunity, for a fee of 4 euros, to offer training seminars to their employees.
The demonic Lorrana has plans to expand its activity in Greece and Spain, where youth unemployment is huge and people do not have money to pay for the services they desire.
