The Athens Law School won first place in a pan-European mock trial competition!
The second-year students of the Athens Law School Maria Vassilaki, Athanasios Plexidas and Marianthi Koutris, under the supervision and guidance of the Lecturer in International Law, Mr.G. Kyriakopoulos , and the assistance of the postgraduate student Charalambos Panagiotopoulos and the undergraduate student Niki Kouri, managed to win first place in the Pan-European Space Law Moot Court Competition “ ManfredLachs 2015”, which took place in Belgrade during the first five days of June.
This competition (Manfred Lachs Space Law Moot Court Competition) is now an institution, since it is organized every year by the International Institute.

This year's case concerned burning issues such as the development of commercial activities in space as well as taking measures to avoid collisions of space phenomena with our planet.
The Law students successfully faced the great competition and were ultimately crowned European Champions. The competition was attended by corresponding teams from all the leading Universities in Europe, such as Paris XI, which has a tradition in Space Law, and the University of Edinburgh.
The next goal of the team from the Athens Law Schoolis to represent Europe at the World Final next October, in Jerusalem, where it will face the winning teams from the other continents.
