Facebook messages and posts that turn men & women off

facebook posts

They meet by chance in a bar. A mutual attraction develops between them and they start communicating via SMS or Facebook. And suddenly, one of them "freezes". A completely possible scenario.

Men and women can easily be turned off by something they read in text messages or social media posts. Spelling mistakes, selfies, or photos of babies and sweaty bodies can put a premature end to a relationship that is just beginning.

This is according to a survey by Match.com, which asked 5,675 adults to answer what turns them off most in this area. What they said is particularly revealing, according to a TIME article.

Regarding Facebook, 73% (65% men, 78% women) are bothered by overly emotional posts, 57% (46% men, 65% women) by too many selfies , and 55% (49% men, 59% women) if they are asked to block their ex-partner from their friends.

When it comes to texting, men and women seem to be turned off by similar things. Many typos and spelling errors are one of them (36% men, 54% women), one-word or abbreviated replies (33%/37%) and using only capital letters (30%/28%). In addition, men are annoyed when they are texted during work hours (47%), while women are annoyed when they are asked too many personal questions (37%).

Instagram also has many pitfalls. 35% are turned off by the use of many hashtags, 24% by photos of babies and children, and 22% by posting famous phrases. Women, on the other hand, lose interest in those who post many photos of their body parts (45%), use many hashtags (41%), have a mania for posting snapshots from the gym (34%), take a lot of selfies (26%) or photos from parties (25%).
