I have told you before that Twitter is the medium of jokes in Greece. Humor flows freely, as you can see in the top weekly funny tweets, with users constantly creating new content, which is often “stolen” by other users without the necessary mention or retweet. “Clopy paste” is now a habit.
A new service called Who Tweeted It First is coming to take advantage of Twitter's recent announcement about indexing all tweets, allowing users to search for words or even entire tweets, finding who mentioned them first!
The process is simple! Visit the service and in the box copy and paste a word or an entire phrase from a tweet. After a while you will find out who mentioned the word or phrase you placed first.
You can use the service to see if other users are “stealing” your tweets or simply to see which users were the first to mention certain events or anything else. For example, did you know that the word “Facebook” was first mentioned on May 10, 2006 on Twitter?
