The solution to this relatively insignificant, but quite annoying problem has come with the new, "smart" earplugs, which have the ability to turn into an alarm clock.
They could also be described as earplugs-headphones. The new technological product called "Hush" uses Bluetooth to send the sound of the alarm clock directly to the ears of the person who wants to wake up. In addition, the Hush is capable of playing music at low volume, for those who want to fall asleep listening to their favorite artists.
Created by three students , the new earplugs are designed to solve a perennial problem for married couples. In just eleven months from the conception of the idea, the scientists at the University of California completed their project and the “Hush” are ready to hit the market.
During sleep, they function like regular earplugs, preventing external sounds from disturbing sleep. However, when it is time for the wearer to wake up, they connect to the mobile phone's alarm clock and play its sound. At the same time, they can be programmed to notify in other situations as well. For example, they can be set to ring when the smartphone receives specific calls.
