Toshiba is developing a new processor called TZ1001MBG, intended for wearable devices.
The new processor is expected to be used in smartwatches, fitness bands, bracelets, and other wearable devices that help with exercise, improve nutrition, or simply make users' lives more comfortable.
The processor (ARM Cortex-M4F) will feature Bluetooth technology, allowing wireless communication with smartphones, tablets and other supported devices.
Furthermore, the use of a Bluetooth Low Energy Controller will not only reduce energy consumption, but will also significantly reduce the size of the processor.
As is known, manufacturers constantly seek ways to make wearable devices smaller and lighter, in order to be more user‑friendly.
Mass production of the TZ1001MBG is expected to start in September of the current year.
