AVG withdraws LiveKive app

LiveKive

AVG Technologies has announced the retirement of its automatic backup and file synchronization service, LiveKive. The company appears to have made this decision due to the low usage rate of the application.

Starting April 9, 2014, users will no longer be able to upload new files to their accounts. Additionally, users will have until July 7, 2014, to download any files they want to keep.

On July 8, all files will be permanently deleted. The company emphasizes that its decision to discontinue LiveKive does not affect other products or services.

Users of the app can choose a new alternative service, such as Microsoft's OneDrive (formerly known as SkyDrive), Google Drive, IDrive, Mozy, Bitcasa and Dropbox.
