It's been almost two years since Google bought Canadian-based Bufferbox and finally decided to shut down the service.
Bufferbox, a startup that allows users to share data in accessible mailboxes, will cease operations in April, according to a related announcement.
While Bufferbox offers a fairly convenient option to accept deliveries when you can't be home, Google decided it had a better use for the service.
A blog post states: "We're constantly looking for new ways to help people buy their favorite products online faster and easier, and as always, it's important to evaluate where we're focusing our efforts. That's why we've made the difficult decision to begin phasing out the standalone Bufferbox service, instead bringing the team's knowledge, technology, and expertise to future Google products, like Google Express Shopping (available today in the San Francisco Bay Area)."
The service has stopped accepting new agreements and registrations from the last few days will be accepted on Bufferbox but will be valid until March 31, 2014, while the last day will be April 21, 2014.
