Windows 8.1 Update 1 is now available for download, so there's more information about the controversial Start menu for the desktop.
Just as Windows leaker, Wzor, the desktop start menu appears to be enabled by default, but even though Microsoft refuses to comment on such a change, it turns out that the feature will only be enabled on new installations.
On the other hand, if you prefer to upgrade from Windows 8.1 to Windows 8.1 Update 1, using the built-in Windows Update feature, your settings will remain unchanged, so in case the Start menu on the desktop is not enabled, it will still take time to see the Start screen.
Windows 8.1 Update 1 is scheduled to be released in March alongside Microsoft and is expected to be sent via Windows Update as a free download for all those already using Windows 8.1.
