Using your cell phone after 9 p.m. causes severe stress, insomnia, and loss of energy, according to research from the University of Michigan
When the cell phone is on, it keeps the mind busy and does not let it relax, while making it difficult for people to disconnect from their work duties. This is supported by a study from the University of Michigan, and thus, scientists advise us to turn off our cell phones when we are not working, usually after 9 pm.
According to this research, cell phone use is directly linked to poor sleep and insomnia, while during nighttime hours it reduces productivity the next day.
The effect of an open cell phone is also evident in the production of a hormone called melatonin, which is released in the evening hours and helps us sleep well, scientists also say, adding that an open cell phone with the light it emits prevents the production of melatonin and as a result we have poor sleep quality.
Finally, although all modern technology devices have a negative effect on the human body, scientists characterize the mobile phone as the most "inconspicuous" device in human life.
