Apple has released two new updates to its popular Pages app for Mac and iOS, which bring an important security fix, making it imperative to install them immediately.
The Pages 5.1 and Pages 2.1 updates for OS X Mavericks v10.9 and iOS 7 respectively, fix a security vulnerability that was discovered in previous versions of the application.
According to Apple, the security flaw could be exploited with the help of a specially crafted Microsoft Word document, leading to an unexpected application termination or arbitrary code execution.
The double free bug in Microsoft Word document handling was resolved through better memory management.
