According to Cisco's latest annual security report, more than one million security are still needed globally. The company says cybercriminals are using sophisticated tactics and technologies to carry out attacks, making them particularly difficult to successfully counter.
The study also shows that the number of vulnerabilities and security alerts regarding threats increased by 14% compared to 2012.
After analyzing the networks of 30 multinationals, the company found that all of them generated traffic to malware websites. In addition, 96% of the monitored networks sent traffic to compromised servers.
When it comes to DDOS attacks, they have not only increased in volume, but also in severity.
Until recently, electronics, chemical and pharmaceutical companies were the most targeted by malware. However, in the past two years, agriculture and the mining industry have been increasingly targeted.
