If for some reason you still think that no one cares about knowing your location when you're on your cell phone, you might not have heard this yet: According to a Washington Post report, the US security agency, NSA, collects almost 5 billion records about cell phone locations around the world every day!
An NSA official who spoke to the newspaper on condition of anonymity said the U.S. intelligence agency collects data from around the world by tapping the cables that connect cellphone networks internationally and serve both U.S. cellphones and those outside the United States. In addition, data is collected from tens of millions of Americans who travel abroad with their cellphones each year.
Of course, it's obvious that no agency can process such a volume of data in one day, so the NSA is obviously just... collecting personal data as a hobby, like others collect stamps.
