Anonymous hackers from Venezuela and Argentina have compromised and altered the content of several Venezuelan government websites .
The hacktivists wrote in Spanish on the websites they defaced: "This post is dedicated to all Venezuelan citizens. We will not allow the corrupt government to corrupt us. We are ready to confront them. We will not allow Cuba to dominate our country."
The list of targeted websites includes pgmerida.gob.ve, fundaciteportuguesa.gob.ve, zonfipca.gob.ve, iamdr.gob.ve, alcaldiabrion.gob.ve, cortudelta.gob.ve, casabello.gob.ve, polimaturin.gob.ve, spcnu.gob.ve and misionvenezuela.org.
Some of the targeted websites have been restored, but many of them still carry the hackers' message or have been taken down.
Last week, hackers defaced the content of a website belonging to the Argentine armed forces. They claim they did not delete any important data, they simply wanted to show that “security does not exist in Argentina.”
